My Blog has a NEW look
As you can see I have a NEW appearance to my blog thanks to the skills and time our son-in-law Neil shared with me. He has been a wealth of information and is extremely patience in his teaching this ‘old dog to learn new tricks’. I hope these new tricks will become salient and I can move on to learn even more from him.
Each on one of our kids has so many talents and attributes and John and I appreciate these in Neil:
- He is willing to share his knowledge & skill
- He is a continual learner
- He’s patient
- It’s a good teacher
- Good father
- Serving & loving husband
- Humble
- Hard worker/diligent.
- Godly man
- He’s very fun to be around!
I thank God for Neil as I know all of our family does.
A Visit from Mom & Sue
Here are some photos of the visit from our family. They will actually leave tomorrow morning. The Lord has blessed us with this visit.
Our 3 weeks in Virginia & North Dakota
Here are some photos of our time in the USA. We’re glad we were able to go and visit and help out the family.
- The DeVos Family: Bobbie & Ron + children: Joel, Alexandra, Jesse, Wesley, Riley, Winston, Audrey & Annabelle
- I just love this photo of Bobbie and her 8th sweet baby: Annabelle.
- This is a wonderful photo of John, his brother Joe and their Mother, Priscilla.
- While in the retirement home, brothers Joe and John played a bit of pool.
- John’s Mom and her husband (also John’s uncle)
- We didn’t get to see many of John’s cousins while in North Dakota due to the Pow-Wow that was being held and being busy with John’s Mother. We were able to see Holly, John’s 1st cousin.
- This is a precious photo of Uncle Greg and Annabelle.
- Our 2 year old grandchildren. What a fun age! William and Audrey.
- Aunt Jesseka and Annabelle.
- Jesseka with her son William and holding niece, Annabelle
- Greg rounding up the troops!
- More games and fun!
- Greg organized games for the children. Super good entertainment for us on the side-lines!
- Our 22nd grandchild: Annabelle DeVos
- Bobbie (daughter) and Jesseka and Greg in their barn at supper time. The weather was lovely in Virginia.
- These sweet children! Abigail and Wesley are cousins.
Paella with family…Life is good
John’s brother Joe and sister-in-law, Vanita came to visit us in Spain this past week. As I mentioned in our last prayer letter, this marks the 1st time EVER that one of John’s siblings has come to visit us while overseas (23 years!) What fun we had with them! Here we are in the village garage, making a paella. This one was called a paella mixta because it had both chicken & seafood. You can get a bigger view of the photos by running your cursor over the photo and clicking. Paella is the #1 recipe I use for that wonderful herb: saffron, which is the most expensive spice in the world. Needless to say, it is much cheaper to buy here in paellalandia. I have an entire recipe book for just paellas, and they are yummy!
Photos of our family
Here are some more photos of the recent visit from Greg, Abigail and Preston. Jesseka and 2 year old William stayed home in Chicago. Please click on the photo to enlarge it.
- Abigail hanging the wash
- Preston & his zoo
- Greg & Abigail in the tienda
- abigail & Preston in Portugal
- Abigail & Grandma in the metro
- Dad and Greg
We are very thankful to the Lord for the blessings of family.
Family Times
We were sent some photos of some of our kids and grands and we wanted to share them with you. They were sent to us by Rebekah and Dave and we are thankful that these 3 couples had time together as a family. It really blesses us. Click on the photo for a larger view.
Who is this? Hint: He is the newest member of our family…
Isn’t this a sweet little guy? Nathanial Gish is the newest member of our family and married to our Jerusha last October. I was very thankful that Nathanials Mom sent me this baby photo and I’m happy to share it with you. He and Jerusha live and work in Chicago, IL.
